Mein Freund, der Baum hat wieder die Jahrescharts der wichtigsten musikjournalistischen Medien ausgewertet. Im Einzelnen waren das die Redaktions- und Leser/Hörercharts folgender Medien: Musikexpress, Rolling Stone, Spex, Intro, Visions, Zündfunk (Bayern 2), Der Ball ist rund (HR 3), laut.de, FM4 (ORF) und Plan B (EinsLive). Für jeden 1. Platz in den Einzelcharts gab es 20 Punkte, für den 2. Platz 19 Punkte, für den 3. Platz 18 Punkte usw. bis hin zu 1 Punkt für den 20. Platz. Bei den Alben konnten so maximal 300 Punkte geholt werden, bei den Singles 260 Punkte.
